Wines of Gascony
Another crisp and light white from the Côtes de Gascogne appellation southeast of Bordeaux. This wine-growing district in Gascony produces principally white wine. Côtes de Gascogne is mainly located in the Département of the Gers named after the river of the same name, a tributary of the Garonne. Similar in style to our dry Bordeaux whites Élisabeth nonetheless has a very different character since the grape blend is quite different. To 60% Colombard and 20% Gros Manseng, two grapes typical of the French Southwest wine region, is added 20% Sauvignon Blanc. Lovers of Sancerre and New World Sauvignon will appreciate this wine greatly. Wonderful with fish, poultry and cheese it will also be a delight on its own on a sunny day in the garden. Drink young.
