Chateau Rozier

Grapes: 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon

Style: Well-balanced, rich and full-bodied

Including a gold at the Concours de Bordeaux, Vins d’Aquitaine and another at the Concours Général Agricole in 2018, this wine from Vignobles Saby has won many awards.  As one one might expect of a St Emilion Grand Cru, it is made principally of  Merlot (80%) with 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested from mature vines which are on average 40 years old.  The juice is fermented in cement and stainless steel vats and the wine is then aged in barrels, 30% of which are new. With a deep purple colour and aromas of black fruit the wine is well-balanced, rich and full-bodied with soft tannins and a long finish.  An excellent accompaniment to beef, venison, lamb and poultry.
