Saint-André Corbin

Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion is north of Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the river Barbanne. Together with Lussac-Saint-Émilion, Montagne-Saint-Émilion and Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, it is one of the so-called “satellites” of Saint-Émilion proper.  Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion produces red wine only. Nearly all of the Bordeaux grape varieties can be used including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec although this particular wine is 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Franc.  Full, round, lush and fruit-filled on the palate it has excellent structure, balance and a fine finish.  Saint-André Corbin was starred in Le Guide Hachette des Vins in 2015 and 2016 and took bronze in the Challenge International du Vin in 2014.  Excellent with beef and other red meats, stews and casseroles.
